is an Original painting on heavy Fabriano Watercolour paper 140lb/300gsm. After sketching in the details I began filling in the larger background area and her base layer of hair with acrylic paints and then continued with oils for her face and details. I used some patterned soft fabric I've had in my collection for some time for the front of her dress as it was perfect for the effect I wanted. I often drawn to use fabric or collage to add an extra depth and texture to my paintings. I also used some soft pastels in her hair and Caran D'ache Museum Aquarelle coloured pencils were used for the very fine details to add some definition.
