DAY OF THE DEAD

The Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos), celebrated primarily in Mexico on November 1 and 2, is a vibrant and spiritual holiday that honors deceased loved ones. Rooted in ancient Aztec traditions and blended with Catholic influences, it is a time for families to create ofrendas (altars) decorated with flowers, candles, and photographs, as well as the favorite foods of the departed. Far from being a somber occasion, the Day of the Dead is a joyful celebration of life and death, symbolizing the continued connection between the living and the spirits of those who have passed on.
